What is the one ultimate luxury item that you would buy, if money was no object, and that would give you the most pleasure? Automobile, followed by jewelry, clothing and gadgets, says global market research firm Synovate.

Nearly one-third of the respondents chose car as the one ultimate luxury item that they would buy if money was not their concern, while 11 percent of the respondents pick fine jewelry, designer clothing and a great gadget.

The survey, which was conducted in October 2009, polled over 8,100 urban respondents from 11 markets – Brazil, Canada, France, Hong Kong, India, Netherlands, Spain, Taiwan, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the US.
